    Cruffler checking in...

    Hello, forum members!

I'm an old hand at hiking and camping, but have recently seen the light about hammocks for camping. I'm not quite as long in the tooth as KabarUSMC below my post, but if I were a firearm, I'd be classified as a Curio & Relic.

I'm looking forward to gaining a lot of information in the next month or so before I purchase a hammock. I'll be starting to section hike the AT this summer and am already learning some of the 'tricks of the trade' regarding hammocks.

I eagerly await getting answers to some of my questions, but I can only think that most of you are not quite as eager to bear with my noobish questions. I'm busy right now going through the archives and searching for some of my questions, so I don't sound like I just fell off the turnip truck.

Thanks for what looks to be a great forum and thanks in advance for your patience with us noobies.

Welcome to HF, Cruffler. I hope you can find the answers to your questions, but feel free to ask. We were all noobies at one time. And there is a lot to learn - but you don't need to know it all to enjoy sleeping off the ground. Just watch your bank account - hammocking can be habit forming.
