OK, updated list now appears to be:
Jan 14th-15th, Woodridge Public Use Area near Lawrence, Ks
Coming:
Owl
Weasel
Fuhgawee
Psyop
Skygzr
Dudorino
Possible:
MrClean
Walking Bear
Definitely interested in seeing more folks attend if they can, but it'll be nice to get out even with just a small group. This will probably be the coldest hang that Weasel and I have done...should be interesting!
I'll post more info on the location as the time gets closer...as I'd mentioned before, it can be a bit challenging to find the first time.
As far as hanging locations once we get onsite...I'm thinking that we might setup at the front entrance/trailhead Friday night (car camping basically), and then hike in and look for a nicer spot on Saturday.
Here's a link to the US Army Corp of Engineer's site with info about the area.

Among a lot of things, it says that potable water and vault latrines will be open.

Hey Owl, is this the right place?

That be the place! The gates will probably be closed so parking will probably be about where you stopped the line. Wasnt sure on the latrines and well...thanks for checking that out. Looking forward to seeing folks out there!
Editted to add:
The roads that you drew the red line on that map are actually gravel/dirt roads, and very easy to drive right by if you're not paying attention. Definitely the easiest part of the trip to get lost and go down the wrong road.

I'm guessing that I can be there around 2pm. That would give me a few hours before dark to set up Friday at the entrance
How far of a hike do you estimate to the next site on Saturday?
Thanks

Not sure what time I will be out there on Friday, also depends on when Weasel gets off work too. I will have a better idea as we get closer.
Its only about six miles around the whole loop, so worst case we do a whole loop and camp again at the trailhead. There are a couple of good spots we can stay. We should be able to have a good time out there man!
I'm planning on coming, but I'll have to keep an eye on the weather.
I have a 20* HG UQ with 2oz of overstuff + 1/8" thinsulate pad. With that I think I can get down to about 10*.
Hopefully there are some really frigid temps before then so I test my kit.
