Maybe someone should post final directions (or links to them) in a sticky or something...that way they're easily accessible and there's no confusion. I'm not worried about getting lost myself - Tim's riding with me

what was plan B again? meet at Old Orchard?
Good thing I am just the pilot and not the navigator. I don't have good directional skills when driving.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?

Tim, you're the point man on plan b...post directions again here so everyone's clear on where to go.
I'll probably arrive after dark Friday...maybe Saturday afternoon if I can't get out of work early enough on Fri.

IMPOSSIBLE JUST TAKES LONGER
i drew a crude overview map of the mt rogers area. it's by no means to scale, but i believe everything is correctly placed & named.
since people are coming from different directions, it shows three main ways into the area.

most of the area on this hand-drawn map is part of the "mount rogers area".
i just noticed that i didn't label the road on the left... it's hwy 600 or white top rd.
you will see an over-view of GHSP with a few noted points.
hopefully each person or group will have a topo map for more detail for GHSP or plan B. jeff, if you want a map, i could leave you one at the jeep. also, if jeff or anyone else wants me to try & call you when i get to GHSP & see how things look, i can try, but i don't know about reception. i get a signal on the ridge tops but i have doubts about from the lower places along the park road.
hopefully, we will be able to use wise shelter, but they are calling for high winds & cold temps... that's two of the things they use to determine if they should close trail heads.
between your road maps/google, the hand-drawn map, and a topo, you should be getting close, but feel free to ask questions. we don't want to leave anyone wandering around on the roads or the trails. ...tim
I too will something make and joy in it's making
you may be able to see the map a little better if you go to the "hammocks landscape" gallery.
ahhh... i just noticed that you can put your pointer on the picture from the link & click to enlarge<g>.

Ok so plan B is somewhere along the cliffside trail - well if plan B happens then I'll just have to wing it I guess and look for someplace reasonable in that area
