I'll second that. The White Oak Hollow route is easier when there has been a lot of rain, though the trade off is that you miss out on all those beautiful falls.

Glad the weather didn't dampen your spirits. Thompson Creek has a special place in my heart.

Great report on a great place, navigator!
I have never had a more harrowing night of camping. EVER. I kept peeking out under the tarp to see if the creek was getting close
Classic! Those Sipsey Creeks just go crazy in heavy rain, and they change FAST!

Get this: last time I was there, I could walk across Borden ( at the Sipsey junction) barely getting the bottom of my boots wet. In fact, it would not have been any challenge crossing the Sipsey itself, though I might have gotten my feet and ankles wet. Can you believe it?

Great trip report and pics. Next time you're in that area, look for this historically significant place:
Saltpeter Cave was a source for the potassium nitrate used in the production of gunpowder, for the Union Army in the Civil War. Between Needles Eye and Bee Branch.

Here's the video of the trip. Lots of shaky motion video, lots of water features, and long (15 min). Watch only if you dare.
