    TrekLight vs ENO weight difference

Can anyone account for the difference in weight between the TrekLight double and the ENO double? TrekLight is listed at 19 oz, whereas the ENO is three ounces more at 22 oz. To the best of my knowledge, they are practically the same hammock with identical dimensions. I could be wrong.

I see that the ENO has a strap added to the stuff sack. I can't imagine that accounts for 3 oz. Does one come with heavier metal attachments for hanging?

The biner that was on my ENO was pretty heavy. Seems like the Trek Light biners were lighter.

Indeed. I've no idea why ENO ships those with such a heavy steel biner.

****! Given the speed of responses on this forums, there really should be some kind of hammock hotline for those out hiking with cell phones... seems like someone's always ready with instant information.

I'm not aware of any difference in the two hammocks--prices and colors aside--after one ditches the heavy biners. I've liked the Trek Light I've played with, so is there any reason I wouldn't like an ENO?

Not at all. They are the same hammock design, reportedly made in the same facility (Ticket To The Moon Hammocks), that are rebranded.

Why not just get the Trek Light and use their lightweight biners? But to answer the question angrysparrow already did, there is no difference in feel at all between the two. I've had both makes (ENO Single & Double; Trek Light Double) and if it wasn't for the difference in colors, I doubt I'd know the difference between the Doubles.

'biners with Trek Light??? Mine did not come with a 'biner but rather a steel hook which I promptly replaced with a descender ring.

They are selling them with the hammocks now, I think. Otherwise they are sold separately for a few bucks. They're green and only weigh like .7 oz. They are what I'm using on my thru; they're great.
