    Gear Hammock / Pack Cover

Just purchased my Gregory Z55 pack, and rather than buy a pack cover for it, I would like to find something more useful. I have seen a couple videos on pack covers, that double up as a poncho, and some that turn into a gear hammock.

Any recommendations on member made gear, or some of our friends who are vendors here?

I appreciate your time - Cheers!

just jeff's pack cover gear hammock. sold by JRB link: http://www.jacksrbetter.com/JGHPC.htm

Or the Packa is a cool pack cover rain jacket combo. JRB sells a driducks pancho that doubles as a hammock undercover that you could wear over the pack while hiking. Not sure if you are looking for a cool pack cover or specifically a gear hammock pack cover.

Could you be more specific about your needs?

Well, here is the combination gear hammock/camp seat/pack cover/signalling device that I made a little while ago:

    http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=30132

It was probably about $30 in materials and took about an hour to make. I liked a lot of other designs that I saw, but they didn't do everything that I wanted, so I made one myself.

Looks interesting for the multi-use aspect - where did you find such blinding orange sil?

Outdoor Products sells one for 4.88 at WW now. I'll prob pick one up to use as a gear hammock.

What a fantastic idea!! That would serve so many more purposes in the great outdoors, i made something similar from my off cuts of parachute just whipped the ends and stuck a strong cord loop through each whipped end, i use it for a chair, gear hammock and a food store. so simple but so effective!
