    Looks good. Are those hitch pin clips with the tails cut shorter?

    That would work, but I made them out of aluminum wire. The one on the left is 8 gauge and the one on the right is 12 gauge.

    Thats really cool. Would it still work if after you came back from the tree you ran it through the center of the ring and pulled it tight, giving you the mechanical advantage just like a truckers hitch, and then did your wraps?

    Redoleary: You can all most get to work, if you put the line through so that it exits so the line will wrap the loop that is pulled over the tail. But it will not unwrap nice. The last bit hangs up a little. You could use you design all most the same way.

    Nice little tool, thanks. (Instructions would be clearer if you did the wrapping a bit more slowly, but I think I got it...)

    bkrownd: After you used it a few times its hard to slow down. The line that is wrapped around get pinch between the wire and the line going into the wire that is looped over the tail.
