    Mountainfitter Reflective Glowire 50'

    Hey Everyone,

I want to let you guys know about a new product I am going to start offering. Its a 3/32" (2.38mm) solid braid cord that's suitable for all sorts of backcountry applications including bear bagging, tent guy lines, tarp ridge lines, and anything else you can can think of. The cord is made with a high tenacity uv reistant Marigold Yellow Nylon jacket and uses two 3M reflective tracers and has a solid Dyneema core which gives it a break strength of 200lbs. Weight: 1.40oz per 50 feet. Works with LineLoc 3's but due to the cord being a bit small they should be backed up with a slippery half hitch.

For more details please check out my website. Mountainfitter.com

    Thanks,
    Lawson

Looks like Triptease. How does this differ?

I just received an email from a Hammock Forums member asking if this was unbranded Kelty Triptease. Here was my response for all you that are wondering the same thing...

This cord is very similar to Kelty Triptease. As far as colors go I think its a shade or two off but its really close. This is actually a sample cord a mill custom made for me using in-stock materials so essentially they could make the Triptease for Kelty but they said no so who really knows.. I will be eventually switching to a hi-viz orange sheath but in the mean time I wanted to see how the cord worked with sizing, weight, break strength, etc... Thats really the reason for the discounted price..

    Thanks,
    Lawson

Definitely going to consider this - a great buy! I use some very similar cord for tent guylines when I'm car camping and I love it -- no more tripping over guy lines in the dark.

I looked at the wrong specs on the cord. The cord is rated to 350lbs rather then 200lbs like I originally thought so at 350lbs its almost double that of Kelty Triptease.

Is it "no tangle" at all? I've got plenty of Kelty Trip-tease, but I'm looking for no tangle line for my hammock tarps.

Also, how much is "shipping and handling" for an order of this stuff? That can really jack up cost for the online consumer.
