The Cocoon inflatable pillow is perfect under the knees, but is unstable under my head, rolls off to one side.

For my head, I use an REI backpacking pillow that they don't make anymore. It's perfect, way too flat and thin for the ground, but just right in the WBBB. I cover it with a Thermarest fleece pillow case. Don't know what I'll do when it wears out, maybe send the remnants to Paul to see if he can copy it.

Kookabay UL. at 1.3 oz it is a couple tenths of an once over the Flex-Air, but way more robust with a "real" valve and good shape. As a gram weenie I couldn't handle the thought of a 10 oz pillow. That is almost the wt of my underquilt Those of you without the gram counting obsession will not understand

It would be interesting to see one of those in down, might have to see if Stormcrow wants to make a prototype!
This thing works awesome! When I roll around it stays on my neck so I always have my pillow there no matter what! It actually keeps my neck really warm as well. I love this pillow and if it wasn't so bulky and heavy I would take it backpacking.

so fleece stuff sack of clothes is how i'd vote.
+1 DIY. I have a fleece "tube" that I stuff with extra clothes for a pillow. More of a neck nape pillow; something to support my neck and to rest the side of my face.

Would love to hear if any of the big guys--I'm 6'1" and 250 or so--has use the Exped air pillow (it's superlight), and if they used large or regular. Heard the regular was a bit too small, but that it was a great pillow.

If not, big guys (with big heads) what do you recommend? Plan to side sleep in a Chrysalis. hammock tent.

When I was a ground dweller, a black labrador friend of mine was a most warm and comfy pillow (barring a few stomach gurgles and such). But as a hanger now...well...I'm still waiting on your final tally for the poll results. I just kinda thought I would use a bunched up jacket or something, unless someone has a hammock with a footbox at both ends and able to support me and the dog. = )

Mesh stuffsack, filled with spare clothes. It breathes well and weighs maybe an oz. I have a length of shockcord tied to the hammock ridgeline so it does not slide down when I move.
