    Noob from Colorado

Long time backpacker, Eagle Scout, into hunting, fishing, surplus accumulation, escaping from urbania. Gear head with a bit of the DIY streak, although it's been rebuilding surplus rifles, mountain bikes, and home improvement. Have a sewing machine (picturing zig-zagging my index finger) but want to learn a bit about sewing holsters, can't find "exactly" what I want, ever. Have made dozens of alcohol stoves and used them in CO, WY, and MO on various trips. http://zenstoves.net/ ROCKS!!!

Stumbled on this site googling "hammock stove," and have determined "you guys are WAAAY more into dangling from trees than I am." That's a compliment, you are the adult version of bad influences and should be idolized/scolded, depending on point of view!

Bought a Hennesey Expedition Asym a while back and got a free Scout! (Vision: 7 1/2 year old daughter will eventually use it)
From what I've read, I think I've stumbled on the right place!

Welcome to HF. If you want to look at all of Caniball's hammocks plan on the whole day.

Welcome rob, You live just down the road from me I'm in littleton.

I think my daughter started summertime camping at about 6. Once it's warms up a bit you should try a backyard hang with your daughter. My daughter (now 26) still talks of our camping trips. Good memories.

Fairbury Nebraska! Used to chase pheasants down there when I was at school in Lincoln! Busted one on a barely frozen pond that was just above mid thigh deep. Got that bird. Thankfully that was before youtube, roommate + cameraphone would've made that too memorable.. Bottom line there: GO BIG RED!!!!

Rifle list in order of acquisition:
Model 70 Stainless/synth .300 Win Mag VXIII scope
    AirForce Talon SS
    Savage 9317 .17 hmr
M92 Yugo Underfolder (in process on SBR with ATF before build)
Belgian Browning Safari Grade 7mm Rem Mag
    1863 Zouave
    M500 S&W (I count this as a rifle, deer don't know the difference )
M70AB2 (I built, with Ultimak gas tube)
M 98 Mauser HB .25-06 free floated, pillar bedded...
Stainless Synthetic Browning A-Bolt .270 Win (meat gun)
    M99 Savage .250-3000
    Etc....

Great to have one more BIG RED fan on the HF.
That's going to great depths to get a bird.

    Move to big ten

I will miss the Nebraska rivalry. I suspect Big Red will miss the trips to Colorado.
