I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives.
+1 for this idea.
I'm running about 2700mm(106"+) ridgeline, so the WB Net is too small, and I dont really need the smaller no-seeum mesh round these parts either.
Trying to find a local/cost effective source of netting for a DIY of a similar design though, then I'll drown everything in the good oil and be done with it.

Agreed on that one fellas.. When summer is under way that no see um will almost suffocate me.. Love to have something breathable with my traveler... Save the bird for the cooler weather..
We would be one step closer to world peace, if everyone slept in a hammock..
It would be easy to sew in a large patch of looser weave bug net then just cut the old tight one out. i am going to look into that. However, I must admit, in the winter the no see um is quite warm. I like if for winter.
Predictions are risky, especially when it comes to the future.
hey mule, what about sewing in a length of velcro and have an interchangable insert of the looser net and an insert of the no see um. it would be getting the best of both worlds and you could set up your hammock for the current conditions?
let me try that again, it didn't sound right when i read that back to myself;
basically you could have a seperate panel with each type of net, if it's hot out unvelcro the non see um and velcro in the loose net.
I have an older one with the horizontal zip and really like it. I does not touch the bottom of the hammock and when its really hot I can kick my quilt off of me and the bug net holds it off the ground etc. I've also been known to put my book etc down there when its sleepy time.
Good luck,

Thanks a bunch for all the input. Being that it's getting warmer I think I'll hold of till colder weather. Mosquitoes don't really like me all that much anyway so it's not a big deal.
If you don't try due to fear of failure you've already failed due to fear.
