I lived in Cary and went to Apex high, so I know a little about your area.
For day hangs try Bond park, may be down by the lake. Or lake Crabtree.
Overnight:
Umstead park, Jordan or Falls lakes, raven rock
Lots of other places like Uwharrie and the AT if you head west.
Just do some practice hangs in the back yard before you head out for an overnight. There is a learning curve with hammocks.

Many of the NC state parks are great places to hang. Also along the Blue Ridge Parkway and surrounding areas.
Down here on the coast the Neusiok Trail is a great place to hike and hang

I too own an ENO and live in Cary. +1 on rjcress recommendations. I always bring the hammock to those locations for day hikes. I Personally haven't explored it yet but (fittingly named) ENO river state park in Durham, looks promising as well.
Hope to see you out and about. I have done some mods to my ENO and make some DIY gear, so if you have any questions I can assure you this is the place for getting ideas and help.

Hey guys! Standing Indian, a few miles west of Franklin, is one of my favorite areas. The view is absolutely incredible and you have several loop options. For a shorter hike, you can go in a Deep Gap and hike 2.5 miles north on the AT.
