    Silk gathered end Hammock

Has anyone ever made a gathered end hammock out of silk? I know nothing about fabrics really, but I think it would be really comfy to lay on. Would it not be strong enough? Stretch too much? It wouldn't be for camping, just for the yard.

It will work but would probably be heavy and maybe too warm for summer use. It's also quite a bit more expensive from my research into silk.

Oh-no often uses a home made silk hammock.

JD/Sky Dog also did but ended up on the ground after a stick or something rubbing against it caused a tear and a rapid decrease in altitude.

I hear silk is much stronger when wet. Of course, spending all night in a wet hammock might not be the most comfortable in cooler weather....
