Recycled Down?

oh - my garage is still molting

A non hammocking friend of mine stepped into my garage a few months ago and asked if I had been performing voodoo rituals with chickens.
I have about 15 gallon bags of down from a quilt, but there was prob. another 15 floating around.

Thanks for the tip Ker. gmcttr, I did see JJ and his method which seems to work well. My problem is I've got one of those stupid Dyson vacuums and it sucks. Not in a functional way.

I had a similar issue, even using my shop-vac to collect the down. I accidentally overfilled the shop vac... when I opened it, it looked like foam flowing out of a washing machine....

I wasn't so happy when it happened.... I guess the old formula works: Pain + Time = Comedy

Checked out the down and it's nice and fluffy and an off white color (Brownish Gray). :>

Perfect! Break out the *clean* shop vac and start sucking it out!

I made a pillowcase out of some downproof ripstop to store mine... worked great.
