I contacted the Pine Mountain Trail Association (PMTA) to see if Hammock Camping was permitted and received 2 thumbs up.

I'm new to both GA and hammocking. Is Pine Mountain a nice place for a weekend or over-nighter? I live in Conyers, so it's one of the closest places to me. How's the availability of water at the campsites? Do they permit camping anywhere besides the designated sites?
I was thinking of a different Pine Mountain Trail

Wow, Griffin GA. That was my hometown from age 4 to 21. Graduated in 94 from Griffin High (before the second school was built).
Don't get back there much (once in over 10 years), but I do miss it. Have a few friends I keep in touch with through FB who are still there and it looks like the town is doing well.
Sorry to get off topic, just had to shout out to my old home town.
I live about 30 minutes from the Pine Mountain Trail. I just haven't had a chance to hang there since I've been working 2 jobs for the past year and a half. I would like to though.
If it weren't for physics and law enforcement, I'd be unstoppable.
