You are not alone I too love my Safari above all others for comfort. I made a synthetic UQ for it and it works fine with a down DIY TQ made from a sleeping bag(tapered not full mummy) that I added a foot box to. When It really gets nasty and darn cold, out comes the Clark NX250 we go below 0* in that baby nasty winds and all.
Whether trail or paddle don't you know

The Safari is truly a giant hammock. I added a removable bugnet and tarp to one of the netless Safaris I bought during the Odds and Ends sale, and it is just cavernous inside compared to my Expedition or Explorer. Looking forward to trying it out come spring.
They are definitely unsung hereos. I love the size of the Safari, and the lay is wonderful. I hope to take mine out this weekend to try it with my peapod and MacEntyre sock. I can't wait. Friday night is supposed to be down in the 20's.

Wow! So your Safari must be a No Net like mine? Even with the No Net, using a Pea Pod with the Safari will be quite different to say the least! Not saying it can't be done, but for me the PeaPod is easier with the smaller hammocks. Look forward to reading your results!They are definitely unsung hereos. I love my safari!!! nI had the 2QzQ zipper mod done to mine too. I love the feeling of sitting up in the hammock and feeling like your in a tent. Its so roomy and comfortable though I wish they made one in a super light material -cause it is prob the heaviest hammock on the market. Either way, its my favorite.

Safari here I bought one last year then thought I'd go on a weight reducing gig and sold it. Big mistake. The Expl Dlx is good but I missed the Safari that I picked up a no net version. It has gotten more use than the Expl Dlx, rigged with a JRB nest and Sierra Sniveler.
I never realized there were so many Safari lovers out there. I love that big ole' hammock...
