No offense Tim, but you are merely an Entered Apprentice Hamoholic. I admire your start, but don't believe you are anywhere close to the level of full-blown Hamoholic.

A co-worker just brought this up with me this week and it didn't set too well with me. He started asking questions like:
How much is all your gear worth?
How many hammocks and what's the average price?
What about tarps? How many and what's the average price?
Quilts? How many and how much?
Let's just say that answering those questions was painful. I have a lot of gear and most of it is 'good' gear. To be fair, it does get used. I try to help as many people learn about hammocks as possible, so I keep a good stock. Just what I consider my camping inventory from memory:

    Hammocks
    Warbonnet Outdoors: ElDorado 1.9 Single/Blackbirds: 2x 1.7 Dbl - 2x 1.1 Dbl - 1.7 Single/Travelers: 1.7 Single - 1.1 Dbl
Tree To Tree Trail Gear: 1.7 Switchback Single
DD Hammocks: 2x Frontline - Travel - Camping
    Speer Hammocks: 8.5 & IIIA
Hennessy Hammocks: 2x Deep Jungle XL - 2x Expedition - Safari No Net - Explorer Deluxe & UL
Trek Light: 2x Dbl - Single
    ENO: 3x Dbl - 2x Single
Ticket To The Moon: Single & Double
    Grizzly Adams: Grizz Bridge
Claytor Hammocks: Jungle Hammock - No Net - 2x Expedition
Grand Trunk: All Terrain Hybrid - Skeeter Beater Pro - UL Travel
    Byer of Maine: Moskito Traveller
    Parrot Bay: Key Largo Deluxe
I'm sure there are more, but that's all I can remember right now. Plus, there are my DIY hammocks, which number more than a few.

    Tarps
Warbonnet Outdoors: 3x SuperFly (including prototype) - Edge - Diamond Aysm - Big Mamajama...plus the impending arrival of a new camo SuperFly.
OES: MacCat Micro Spinn - MacCat Standard Spinn - MacCat Standard - 2x MacCat Deluxe
DD Hammocks: 2x DD Tarp - 2x DD Tarp XL
    Speer Hammocks: 2x 8x10 - Winter Tarp
Hennessy Hammocks: Stock tarps for all Hennessy hammocks
    Trek Light: V9
    Claytor Hammocks: 2x Diamond Fly
    Again, I'm sure I missed a couple/few.

    Quilts
Warbonnet Outdoors: 3x 3Season Yeti (one synthetic prototype) - Winter Yeti - 3Season Black Mamba - Winter Black Mamba - 3Season Prototype TQ
Jacks R Better: Shenandoah - Rocky Mtn. Sniveler - 3Season Mt. Washington
    Speer Hammocks: SnugFit
KAQ: Patrick designed and built KAQ
    Ray Jardine: Ray-Way Quilt
Plus, I have a total of 4 DIY down topquilts and 2 synthetic.

As bad as this list is, it only represents the big ticket items and is specific to the hammock portion of the addiction. More specifically, it only represents the outdoor side of my addiction. Indoor hammocks would easily double the hammock list. Add in all the backpacks (5), stoves, stakes, lights, stuff sacks, knives, clothing, biners, clips, mini-biners, Fig 9s, tarp flyz, blah, blah, blah. Well, it's downright frightening! Granted, many items were bought used, given for free or discounted in exchange for testing, traded for other items, etc, but just the idea of what my gear room would be worth at retail pricing....I refuse to even consider it!

You know that old joke about a man's greatest fear being that he die before his wife and she sells his stuff for what he told her he paid for it? I get that joke and it haunts my dreams.

Stop yourself while you still have hope. There is no need to suffer the hammock life that I have been burdened with.

I need a Clark and a JRB BMBH to complete the set, so to speak. For the Clark, I'm holding out for a Vertex. I think it's an amazing hammock rig for 2 people and the only Clark I've ever been able to find comfort in. Girlfriend's son has a BMBH which I used to use when needed while he lived here with us. He has since moved to Gulf Shores, AL. So yeah, I need to get a replacement. Forgot to put my Grizz Bridge on the list now that I'm thinking about it. Then, there is the bridge design that Warbonnet has come up with that should be hitting the market soon (read: I'm very impatient for that one!).

Heck, since we're talking about bridges and hammocks built for two sleepers, I need to add dblhammock's double bridge design to my wish-list. See what I mean, it never really ends.

My name is Tom, and I am a hamaholic!

I have only been doing this since september of 2010, but I have purchased since then:

    Clarks NX250 - $450 - which I sold to Ballonatic (HF)
    3x ENO DN - $65 each
Hammock Gear custom winter top and bottom quilts (new prototype): $650
    Noahs Tarp 9 - $60
    ENO dry fly - $80
AHE KAQ 3Season top and bottom quilts:$380
2 hammock stands for the yard: $65 each
numerous whoopies, tree straps, carabiners: est $100

I have since introduced my buddy mac to hammocking and sold him one ENO, the noahs tarp, whoopies, straps, et al. -

I have also introduced my wife to it too.

Next up to purchase 2 tarps and 2 bugnets

thank God I have a side business!

As all can see Cannibal has taken one route of going off the deep end......There are others among us that chose another route.... I started just curious to see if I could find a decent way of getting a nights sleep....now look at me, 2 years and who knows how much gear made latter. We used to have empty space in the house, now it's filled with boxes, tape and other shipping stuff. Corners were not stuffed with piles of fabric scrap, I did not come home from work with a trail of little white feathers leading back to the shop, I didn't dream of planting dozens and dozens of trees in our back yard, my kids did not want to hang in their rooms, I did not try to sell myself to anybody that wanted me

    I was once normal....

    kinda any way.

    Now.......

    I am.........
