    WB Travler 1.1 $60.00
Tree to Tree Shamu UQ $125.00

Hi TIM! You can't post stuff like this while I am at work. Too funny. The people in the office are looking at me like I am off my rocker.

Ha! I know exactly what you mean. I'm doing the same thing: Buying more gear, upgrading items based on recommendations and discussion here, new items coming out - stoves, tarps, camo, quilts.... Man, I want it all. Oh, and all the DIY opportunities too to build, mod, etc. Wow!

No, this is not a cheap activity. But I love it!

I've known from the beginning I'd have to invest in two complete hammock systems, and have slowly been accumulating them. I bought my first one last December from the HH winter sale so I could get the free Scout

    Now I have:

    HH UL Backpacker
    HH Scout
    WBBB

I got the BMJ tarp, along with the 3/4 length Yetti and the Mamba OQ from WB, and the HHSS for the Backpacker

I'm just now getting into suspension lines and small things, which to be honest, I think is where most of the money really goes. The whoopies and triangle thingies and guy lines and whatnots really add up.

Either way, I'm glad that not only do I have a nice hammock for me, but I can always take a friend hiking/camping and spread the love of hammocks

    Hold on, CW.
Then he will start the process again.
    Something like this...
I bought a singer portable, then found one built into a work table. Also made a cutting table and bought this awesome hot knife for cutting fabric.
All was well until I discovered sergers... And I now keep at least 20 yards of ten different fabrics, and 2 LB of down on hand just in case inspiration strikes...

DIY has it's own set of overhead expenses.

INDEED. I wasn't thinking of DIY as being a $$$$ savings. I just want as many people hooked on the DIY addiction as possible!!!

HAHA, this all seems like an all to terrible truth for me as well. A couple of weeks ago I started looking into hammocking since I already owned an Eno DN for about 2 years now. Thinking that it would be something simple, I started looking into what I needed for this hammocking....

Needed a new suspension, as told by everyone here at hammockforums, old one was too heavy, in comes polyester rope and some carefully placed figure 8 knots, $6 for 50 feet...

I got a new suspension system, now I need a way to lash it to the trees, and I don't want to hurt the trees, hmmm 1 inch seatbelt straps with loops already sewn into each end from strapworks.com, 2 lengths of 25 feet so I can cut them in half and have a loop on one end, $35...

But wait I want an easy way to attach it to my hammock, how about some elephant clips from bloomgorge, I can't just buy one pair, what if my g/f wants in, I guess I'll have to buy two, $34...

Oh no, I heard it was supposed to rain this weekend, I don't have a tarp, REI's having their annual 20% off coupon sale, I'll just buy a Hennessy Hammock A-Sym Hex Rainfly, only $59 after tax and coupon...

I still need to buy an underquilt and bugnetting, it can get cold here in Jersey at night and in the summer, down in the pine barrens, there are mosquitos and greenheads as big as some cats....

    AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. Some come from ahead and some come from behind. But I've brought a big bat. I'm all ready you see. Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!
