    Hello from Canton Ga

Just getting started and excited to get all my gear. I have always been a tent guy but I cant take another sleepless night on the hard ground. I watched all the how to videos that Shug put out. His videos were very helpful and extremly entertaining.

Right now I am looking to gear up. I have looked at Warbonnet and ENO not sure which to get yet. I am not sure which suspension will work best for me either, looks like it is all a preference via trial and error. I will be getting the Warbonnet mamba jama tarp.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cant wait to get in the woods!

    Welcome to HF!

My advice is to go ahead and pony up and get the Warbonnet Blackbird. By the time you get an ENO hammock, plus a bugnet, plus the suspension, you're already almost to the price of a WBBB. And this is coming from an ENO owner btw. ENOs are great hammocks, but like I said, by the time you get the necessities you're only about $40-$50 away from a blackbird, which to me is well worth the difference.

That being said, if you do decide to go with an ENO, don't get the SlapStraps. I repeat, DON'T get the SlapStraps. They're made of nylon so they stretch like crazy. Trust me, I learned the hard way and it's no fun to wake up in the middle of the night on your butt. Instead, I recommend whoopieslings and tree huggers. It's really easy to take out the stock rope and 'biners from the ENO and put on the whoopies. I did a conversion today, actually, and it was no big deal.

    Good luck!

Another welcome from Woodstock. I am currently waiting for my WWBB DL 1.7 to be delivered. I will be glad to get together with you and let you try it out but you have to help me hang it since I am just starting also. Just let me know and I will let you know when it arrives.

WarEagle86- I was leaning in the direction of the WBBB. Like you I was adding up what it would be once I get the bugnet etc. and I think I have made the call to get the WBBB.
Thanks for the advice on the suspension gear as well. I am concerned about the sag factor, I am not a small guy, so no slap straps for me.

    GrizzlyHackle- sounds great.

No going wrong with WB stuffs. If you would like to try out either of the two listed I will be happy to give ya a test hang.

Welcome to the club...your closet will be full before ya know it.
