    ridgelines

is an amsteel blue tarp ridgeline and pursik knots made from amsteel blue a "no no"?

i can't seem to get the pursik knots to catch, it's like the amsteel blue is to slick on the surface.

should i use a different line?

Amsteel is overkill for a tarp ridgeline.

Usually prussics either need to be made of a rope with a smaller diameter than the main line, or need extra wraps to hold.

My tarp CRLs are all 2.2 Zing-It with 2.2 Zing-It loops using Klemhiest loops instead of prussics.

Shane is right, Amsteel is overkill for a tarp. But I had some and didn't want ot waste it. For the prusik to hold you need to use a thinner diameter rope.

Here's a photo of how I'm using a prusik on amsteel. This does not slip at all.
