No mine was the R1150GS. In fact the transalp ended the day crashed (a cage took it out) and my buddy with a helicopter ride to the ER (bad day).

Looked like this on its last day...

    P.S.

One odd thing was the place I set up my hammock (in this post) was the same camp spot we were riding by when the cage took Brad out. Did not even realize it until the next day.

I'm jealous. I am trying to plan a trip from Dallas to Santa Monica in the fall but I don't think it will happen this year. I plan to take my FZ1 with givi bags and my hammock on the trip and camp along the way.

I'll try to keep up with your tips for moto camping. I'm moving back to Tennessee next month so there should be plenty of opportunity to have some short trips to practice.

Wow. That really is a horrible day.

I hope that your buddy came out of it okay in the end.

Nice! 06+ or -? Are you planning a Southern route or Northern (I'd shoot for Northern...more trees to hang from)? Can't imagine a ride like that on an FZ but then I am a beat up older guy.

Chris (Land) is the one to watch (I am) as he has the moto hammock tour down quite well. If you are out anywhere near B-town give a shout.

I watched it from my rear view mirror (after almost getting it too)...it is a mental picture that will never go away. It was also Brad's last ride as he barely kept his right leg. So yup horrible day.
