I’ve been making DIY gear (all sorts) for the better part of two years but held off on messing with down due to the nightmarish thought of little feathers all over the house. On our last group hang, I was admiring Ryvr’s DIY UQ (truly a master piece) and could resist no longer. This Top Quilt is comprised of 12 baffles with 2” noseeum walls. Each baffle has 1.2oz of 750+ Duck Down. Fashioned after the brilliance of the Burrow, it uses channels and cinch cords Head and Foot but I used omni tape instead of snaps to close the footbox when desired. I have no idea what weight the shell fabric is but its calendared rip-stop and holds the feathers so I’m happy. With a “Cap-n-Hand” thanks to Ryvr & Odd Duck for guiding the way to “Down Feather Management”, I will be doing a UQ next!
