    Triangle Thingy alternative

I've been meaning to pick up some triangle thingies, but just haven't gotten to it yet. I toss around a lot in my sleep, and sometimes this shifts my 3/4 UQ to one side of the hammock. The triangle things would help pull the lines up and keep it in place better.

So on my last trip, as I flopped from my back to my side and my UQ shifted, I began to think what I could improvise right there. I pulled out an S-biner and hooked it to the lines as shown below and it worked perfectly! This really allowed me to open the end channels up to give better coverage under my hammock, but keep it snugged up to me as well.

    Just thought I'd share.

Good emergency fix! I have the TTs and a NR UQ (the Incubator is ordered) and found they allow me to tighten one side more than another. I set the footbox side snug to pull the UQ to that way. Then set the left shoulder (on back) side snug to keep it in place there. Basicallly pulls the UQ taut(er) from my right foot across to my left shoulder for my mode of sleep YMMV. There will be some experimenting in the backyard lab when the Incubator gets here.

Since I girth hitch my headlamp to my ridgeline, I have just gathered up the shock cord and girth hitched it to the ridgeline. Works almost like a prussic.

    Looks great!

I have recently begun using a small carabiner on the ridgeline. I hook the shockcord from the end channels directly to the carabiner. I run the shockcord from the edges of the UQ through the carabiner and hook it to the end of the hammock. This creates a dynamic that helps keep everything tight and stretched nicely.
