    HHD major blunder

I was camping with a buddy not long ago and we sat around the campfire sipping some Jonny Walker. I guess I had one to many because when I was ready to retire for the night I had a major blunder. As I opened the bottom entracne to get in I thought I was all the way in the hammock entrance. Instead I was only in the UC when I sat down I hit the ground like a rock. I tore off the shock cords so I had to tie them by hand to get through the next couple of nights. Thankfully I have a buddy that can sew and he was able to fix it for me. Has anyone ever made this same mistake?...

Haven't done that...yet But got a bit of a chuckle out of your story. Glad you weren't hurt other than maybe a little pride. Time to get the 2Q/ZQ zipper mod on that HH.

Shug is the best. The man is full of life and knows how to have fun. He also knows the proper way to enter a hammock!!!

Last drinking blunder I did was
getting home to my tent in the winter only to realize I hadn't split any fire wood that day . . .

For reasons beyond me I was chopping left handed . . .

ended up sinking the axe into my shin bone . . .

I had to actualy yank it out . . .
I was trying to fix it with peroxid and clean underware that I had on hand . . .

ended up deciding to drive to town and let the doc fix it . . .

    Likely a good choice . . . but almost talked myself out of it . . .

Real good thing I was delivered from all such stupidity in '96 . . .

    . . . sometimes I think, NOW, I just use other types of stupidity . . .

My girl, Genuine Draft, has done this at least 3 times that I know of. Once was at Overmountain Shelter on the AT. We were camped on the hill behind the shelter. When she crashed thru the SnugFit and hit the ground, gravity became her enemy. She rolled right out from under the tarp and kept going downhill for a couple of rotations.

Once I picked myself up and was able to breathe again, I made sure she was OK.
