What do you folks think about...

    ...a Trail Days Funtest?

One of the gems that comes out of Whiteblaze every year is the Billville Useless Gear Contest. It's one of my favorite events of the Trail Days weekend. Course, that's Billville and they are special.

I'm thinking of something similar; albeit smaller, not publicized, and maybe slightly more practical in nature. I'm willing to part with a hammock in my collection in exchange for the best hammock-centric idea as decided by the folks in attendance. In other words, all HFers that are going to Trail Days would meet for a half an hour or so and those with ideas to show-off get an audience. After everyone has gone that wants to go, the crowd votes for the winner. Winner gets to choose either a Warbonnet Traveler or a Trek Light Double (spreading some Colorado goodness) from my collection.

Any takers, or is this too organized for a crowd like us?

I will be there. Will be finishing a 10 day section hike at Grayson Highland on the 13th. Hope to make some of the fun that evening and some on the 14th before heading back home.
Have a hotel in Abbington reserved.
When will the meet up be. Maybe some one with some TD experience can name a time and location.

I'll be there after my section. For a time/location I would suggest the Rock School steps Friday evening.

I'd be worried about attracting a crowd at the Rock School. This is just meant to be a fun little distraction and a way for folks to showoff how they 'roll' without being heckled by groundlings. Ewker, you're the exception. You can come.

Maybe somewhere a little less visible; more the way of the hanger.

Nah, this is meant for innovation by mere mortals. Dutch and the rest of our gear makers get to watch and vote. But, if you show up with a Ti chain-mail hammock I'm gonna be suspicious of a mole.

OK Dutch, as long as your entry isn't metal-based.
