Quick Intro

Hi all, I've been a long-time lurker but have decided that, if I'm going to embark on this DIY hammocking adventure, I should give some sort of formal introduction.

I'm a big ol' bird nerd and aspiring Ornithologist. I just graduated from college, so I can hardly afford gas - much less expensive hiking gear! Hence DIY hammock gear seems like an achievable, reasonable goal. I'd like to thru-hike the AT in the future, so hammocks also have that ultralight, hang-anywhere appeal. Woo!

Plus what better place for a bird-lover to sleep than in the trees!

What ever you do, don't tell them you know me. Don't utter any of the aliases I go by. And don't try to get Dutchware through security. There was an "incident". I can't go into is on because they are watching right now. Just trust me on this.

I'd rather see pics of someone hanging across Abe's lap at the Lincoln Memorial. Afterall can you imagine the size of the tree hugger needed to go around the Washington Monument? So much for UL.

Maybe that'll be my DIY first gear piece: "Monument Huggers". XL Webbing suitable for marble obelisks, stone columns, and statues of former presidents.
