    ratchet straps

    I am new to hanging but have read that some of you use ratchet straps for suspension I got tried of hunting can some one give me an idea on how this works I got a bunch of one inch wide straps for free and want to learn.

    Do you mean to use just the straps or use the ratchets with it? I would think that you wouldn't want to use the ratchets 'cause they're so heavy.

    spyder I am not sure I was asking what other peps use I am using slap straps right now cause I am not a knot person. Trying to figure things out.

    I use a ratchet strap that I bought at Advance Auto as a tree strap. It is 13' long 1" polyester and I cut the big S hook off to save the loop on that end. Just use it with my dutch clip and I tied a loop on the open end using a double figure 8 knot.

    See the JRB system came with 5' tree straps and the big oaks in my yard are a good 6' around. So i had to tie the JRB straps together and rather than order some more tree straps I hit the auto store down the street.
