    Ultralite & Value Priced=dphammockgear.com

Checkout this site. $89 UQ, $89 TQ. Both rated to 40-45 degrees. Each weigh 19 ounces or less with stuff sack. Dave(owner) is an awesome guy with very innovative ultralite ideas(met him at the Hoosier Hang and took a look at his stuff, it is very nice). Hopefully he will be on here to add a few words or corrections if I got anything wrong.

Mods: I offered to post this for Dave. So if there are any issues please let me know. Thanks.

I also met Dave at the Hoosier hang last year. He is a pretty sharp guy and has some great ideas. If I weren't limiting myself to DIY gear, I'd be trying some of his stuff for sure.

dp special for Hammock Forums readers ...

Hey hangers, especially ManCat for posting ... Thanks MC !

I just found this thread. The Forum is so deep, sometimes it pays to dig deeper?

A bit of "dp" background ...

I've backpacked and bicycle camped for years. Got serious about going Ultra-Lite a LONG time ago. I've spent a LOT of $$$$$$ purchasing the next light piece of gear that happens on the scene.

With the above in mind, I began crafting my own camping gear. People began asking where they could get something like I was using and thus www.dphammockgear.com happened.

I've spent many a overnite testing gear designs. Some worked and some "didn't". What I'm offering on www.dphammockgear.com works.

Bear in mind, dp's goal is to have "affordable" U-L, reliable gear that will ALWAYS be made in the USA.

If you would like to help www.dphammockgear.com launch, for those of you who have found this thread, till August 18th, 2011, I'll offer FREE SHIPPING within the USA for any purchases you make.

Just mention in your order note, that you are taking advantage of the Forum's FREE SHIPPING offer. I'll then send you a $7.95 "shipping refund" check along with your order. A refund check is the only way I know how to offer this special to a select few.

FYI: I have been offering "free shipping" on each customer's second order. But this Forum offer stands till August 18th, 2011.

Well, I submitted my order. I'll post a review of the TQ and UQ once they arrive.

While this looks like an awesome summer system, the lack of reviews/videos/etc. makes me too unsure to place the order. Someone order this and review it!

EDIT: Left this page open too long before posting, and while it was open Navigator made his post! Great news.

D-P, what type of polyester insulation do you use in your quilts? I looked but I didn't see it mentioned on the site (at least from what I saw). Climashield? Primaloft? Polardguard? Curious and by the way, nice site and great looking gear!

I purchased both the TQ and UQ... finally got to test them out last weekend. I will say that I'm a cold sleeper and when the temps dipped to a low of 40deg F I was cold. For me I think 50deg F and up is a good rating. Once again I'm a cold sleeper...

The quality is great on these, in my opinion they are lightweight, and I will be using these for all my 3 seasonish trips.

    Thank you DP, Ski

    Ohski,
I think it's impressive that dp is combining ultralight gear with economical gear - the two don't usually go together. I note that he qualifies his 40 to 45 degree ratings with the suggestion that hangers use the recognized UL practice of sleeping in long underwear or some other suitable garments to supplement the insulation of the quilts. What did you wear?
