Check out REI's climbing section...33 cent a foot or if you want to order and buy a few things to justify/offset the shipping costs Paul at Arrowhead is a good source...Couple other sources n the forum too.

Since I have 2 UQ's to make I thought I'd buy 100' or so to have extra for other future projects. Looks like some Ebay buys around .17/ft but dont know if there is "bad" shock cord out there. What thickness did you use for your UQ?

I use 1/8''...I believe that is the "standard". It works great for a UQ or pretty much anything you need shockcord for..

I buy Novabraid shock cord from a local marine supply company for $0.14. I know that its good stuff and is rated for high elasticity in cold temperatures.

I buy my shock cord from www.supplycaptain.com you can get it in drab miltary colors.
7 bucks for 100 ft or 48 bucks for a spool.
They also carry reflective paracord and other cool stuff.

    Shock cord

How can you tell what grade or quality you are buying online? So far, I have bought it in person...one batch I bought on Ebay was of much lesser quality. Are there any key words or other ways to know what one is buying online? Anything in the description that would give one a clue?
    Thanks

I'm 3+ on supply captain. Strong stuff. Works great and the price is right.
