If you've never been to Sipsey before, I would recommend starting at the Thompson trailhead and heading out to the big tree. There is plenty of great camping along those trails.
The great thing about a hammock is that you don't actually need a "good camping spot" at least a good tent spot. I mean it is nice to have a flat open site, but after you use a hammock for a while you realize you can set up over rocks or logs or on hillsides and be just fine. I sometimes try and find the most unlikely spot to camp just for fun.

    Congrat's on your trip.

Mark, it's very true that you don't need a good flat spot. However, I consider a good camping spot somewhere that has few dead branches hanging overhead and where someone else has already made a fire pit so that the impact of my sleeping there is minimal. That is what I mean by "good camping spot" and once you're on the 207 there are 2 spots like that. However, there are some really nice spots just slightly off trail that are great as long as you don't have anyone with a tent in your group.

Pretty much any weekend works for me. The camp site in the attached pic is from my first time out there and it would be awesome for a bunch of people to hang. We will just have to get there kind of early because it's one of the more popular spots.
