I'm not sure I can make that weekend, but that's a nice section of river. Here's a trip report from 09 where a few of us did that same section.
Hetairoi and I also passed through on our descent of the whole river last spring. The Tallapoosa is great paddling.

We are planning on puttin in at GA Hwy 27 north of Bremen GA. and paddle down to AL hwy 46, east of Heflin AL
