    WTB: inexpensive tarp

I am introducing my girlfriend to hammock camping, and have a DD hammock that has been relegated to jeep duty, for her to try out. I dont have a tarp for her though, and am looking for something for around $50. Before I buy new though I thought I would see if anyone has one available that they want to get rid of. So, if you have one in this pricerange, please let me know. Thanks!

You can get a new tarp here for $15 more. I got one a while back before they were on sale. Cant beat it for made in the USA...

or run to the local hardware store and get a plastic tarp for <$20..if she like it you can invest in better gear, and use this one to cover stuff in the yard..
(I'm assuming this test will be in familiar environs/car camping; not at the end of a 10 mile slog...in that case go for the lightest one you can find) KM

KerMegan, correct, its an introduction-a small (couple mile) hike, at most if not a car camping trip. I would like to stay away from the plastic ones though, as, if she doesnt like it, they dont serve a purpose for me. I live in an apt building, so no yard to cover anything up in . That being said, the Outdoor Products one may fit the bill-something a little bigger than 5x7 though. The idea being that if she DOES like it, she has a fairly decent tarp to start with. If she doesnt, I have a loaner tarp for others. If she REALLY takes to this...I am gonna get one of the JRB ones with the integral doors, and she can have my Speer one . Gotta get her hanging first though!

Hi OS, I just bought a Tad Pole Tarp from Wilderness Logics for $65 bucks. That may be in your price range and is a good tarp.

Someone in a recent thread mentioned that the Chinook 12'x9.5' is available for $33. This is a great tarp for the price.

    Cheers

These $20 tarps are extremely popular among forum members, although I think both Bargain Outfitters and Sportsman's Guide are sold out:

Greenman, I have a WBBB also and it works well over it. I think you will really like it for the price and quality. I'm just sad they are on sale now after I got one........ My buddy TrailMixALot on here has some pictures of the one he has on an album. Check it out!
