You're looking for "Fairly lightweight" and "around $60". Are you into DIY?

8 yards of 60" silnylon @ $6/yard = about $50. (Look through the archives for suppliers. I can personally vouch for Ed Speer.) Sew yourself a 10'x12' tarp that won't weigh a lot.
- Save yourself weight and cost by doing a regular hem rather than grosgrain edging.
- You can use 3/4" polyester webbing for tieout loops, might cost you another $5.

You can easily customize a decent, tarp for your liking for a small investment in time.

Just to throw this out there, brian of OES does 8' x 10' for $85. Only $5 more, he'll customize it to your liking, add ties outs, and youkre supporting a fellow member.

number 1.... my budget has grown to 100$ number two... Im looking at an OES, or the big mamajamba. Any thoughts? I'd like something big enough to cook under, and far enough away from my face where I dont feel confined. Thank you all so much

Ha! That's a funny evolution. Start low and work your way to the top tier.

Are you looking at the Standard MacCat at $95, or the Deluxe at $115? The Standard doesn't really give you all the extra room you seem to be looking for from a tarp. You can cook under it, but don't spread your stuff out too much. The Deluxe gives what seems like a lot more covered space.

If your primary motivation is max covered area, the BMJ will give you more covered area than either of those options. If you go that route, be sure to order one with the panel pulls. They really allow you to open up the tarp so it's nice and roomy on the inside.

Cannibal makes a good point. The deluxe has plenty of room under it for cooking. I once shared cooking space under one last summer in a torrential rain storm. We both cooked our meals with 2 alcohol stoves going at the same time. I in my chair and them in their hammock.
I WILL have one some day, and I want to do the pole mod so I can do that fancy porch mode. Where would one acquire thus pole?

Perhaps a little heavier, but the kelty Noah 9 has a diagonal ridge line of 12.7', weighs 1#7oz and costs $48. Good quality, minimal stretch.
