My first hammock just arrived in the mail!

I just got my new Hennessy Hammock (well I bought it used, but new to me!) in the mail today. I set it up within 5 minutes using my patio pillars as makeshift trees. It works very well, super comfortable and I can't wait for my first night in it. Heck...I might sleep out there on the patio tonight

Congrats on your first hammock. Happy hanging!

Congrats on the purchase! I'm just getting into hammocks (in a serious sense, at least) but can't afford to purchase anything except the supplies to make my own, I'm so jealous!

I'm sketching different support designs, trying to come up with one that is simple and portable and cheap! Ideally I'll be able to set up inside, at campsites, anywhere...

Ahhhh, the journey begins! Enjoy that HH. That's my hammock. But then you start reading all these posts and you think -- hey, I can make one! And then the insanity takes over.

Who's Insane , Amanda and I have always made our own. Now we are trying the HH and claytors out. Maybe we will like them maybe we won't, the great thing about this forum is that, for the most part, we all understand that everyone has different likes.

Buy some, make your own, experiment, whatever gives you the best possible hang

Glad to see you leave the ground, Dirt4dinner. You're going to like this journey.

I already have some plans in the making for improvements. Unfortunately, neither my wife, nor myself have any idea how to work our sewing machine. So I have enlisted the help of a friend who has been making super high end Tarps and Tarp Tents for a few years (he sells them on several hiking websites). He is going to make me a new rain fly that is much larger, as well as new stuff sacks for the different components. Other than that, I am going to try it out stock for awhile and figure out what I would do different...if I were making it. Then I might just try

Thanks for all the kind words...hopefully the next set of photos won't be on my patio!
