    DIY Ridgeline Organizer

so after looking at the extra fabric from my uq (which i still have to finish) i decided that some triangle adapters and a ridge-line organizer were in order. i poked around some on here to find a design that i liked and after looking at a few, i couldnt pick just one. so i combined a few designs together (mostly JohnSawyer's design with some inspiration from redoleary). i dont think im the first to come up with this one, but i like it.

it has two sides to it. one with 2 wide pockets and the other side has 3 smaller ones. there is also a slit down the middle so i can store bigger things like a book and gloves and a hat. i threw my favorite book in there for a size reference. velcro tabs on the loops.

im not an ultra light person so the size doesnt bother me but i think the next one i make will be a bit smaller. i have to add a tab in the very middle to give it a tighter hold when its full. i threw a flashlight, wallet, book. pens, cell phone and a notebook in it to get an idea of what it can hold and it holds up just fine.

any thoughts on what i could add to it when i make the next one? (because its not if, but when )

    Tucker: But you like it.
Tex: Well I think its important to enjoy what you do.

That did come out really nice, well done. You could put a prusik on your RL on each end and hook that to the outer suspension tabs, then you could pull it tight and loose the center sag. Maybe? Looks good though.
    Good luck,

Looks really good! Try a sewn chanel along the top in place of the tabs, Gives a more even hang. I need to make another one today for a hammock that I just finished.

Good idea. You can also anchor the organizer to your ridgeline with a mitten hook. Just wrap the ridgeline through the hook a second time. My organizer hangs from a mitten hook at each end, so I can leave it loose on the ridgeline so it slides or anchor both ends to stretch it tight in one location. Tex, looking at the width of the tabs you've used, I'd say Red's suggestion of small prussics would suit your rig better.

As usual, Red makes a good call...prusiks ftw.

This is how I do mine (prussiks) and there is no center sag. Good call!

May I ask why the velcro tabs? I have made a few and I make them the same way minus the tabs. I run the ridgeline inside the organizer. That way it has the entire ridgeline for support. Great piece of gear storage.

Looks like you did a great job.
