My tarp got dirty

First I want to thank Brandon for getting me all my goodies. I got home this week from being gone for about 10 days to find my WBBB 1.1 DL, BMJ tarp, guy lines and carabiners were at my house. This weekend I decided to try everything out in my back yard. Of course it started to rain. It rained most of the night but not very hard and I must say the tarp and hammock did a great job of keeping me comfy and dry. This was my first time to set everything up and being new to hammocking I think I got it set up pretty well. Thanks to all of you on here I had researched quite a lot. I know with time I'll get the tarp a little better set and will look even better. That is, when I get it cleaned up. Not only did it get wet, the birds found it early the next morning. Three different places. Oh well, I just hope it comes clean.
Again thanks to Brandon for a very nice product and patience. Also to Shug, because his videos are what got me started in this direction for my trip to BWCA. Can't wait to get back out this week. Maybe Carters Lake.

I have spent most of my nights on my hammock in the backyard. Problem is, my wife is a birder. Not just watches them but puts out the feeders and all. It has just become my routine to run a wet paper towel over my tarp before I store it.

My wife does the same thing. I guess I'll have to get into the habit of doing the same. Just got back from Carters Lake for a one nighter and the rain didn't get it off. Oh well. We'll see.

I'm the one who feeds the birds AND sleeps outside. SO, my tarp getting dirty is mostly my fault. Add to that the fact that I feed my birds & squirrels VERY WELL all year long, there is a lot of bird poo spread over my approximately 1/4 acre.

Yep, I purposely feed the "Tree Rats" & the birds can get what they can. Needless to say, all of my birds & squirrels, even the normally timid ones, are pretty aggressive. Heaven help the critter that isn't from the area. Everyone in the back yard knows who is supposed to be there & who isn't, ALL gang up on the interlopers.

I was in the middle of nowhere on the AT in VA and woke up to bird deposits on my Superfly. One of the hazards of sleeping under the trees I reckon. Come to think on it, I haven't cleaned it off yet either. I hung the tarp to ensure it was dry for a day on my porch, then put it away! HA!

Well I tried the wiping off but didn't come off so easily. I guess I'll work on it a little more.
I also blame the birds and squirrels on my wife but I'm as bad as I like watching them as well.

if you have a vegetable scrubbing brush (to spare!) that should break it up enough for the damp towel to get rid of it.

All of my outdoor gear is "dirty"...I like it that way, because the only way to keep it pristine is to not use it. It comforts me.
