Well...I have a Hennessy Scout on the way that I am recieving to review and keep. However, after spending some time on the Hennessy Hammock forums...I think (not sure yet, cause I haven't tried it), but I think it will be to tight for me. So, others suggested the Warbonnete Blackbird...which is actually the one I saw Shug Emery using last year on his youtube channel while I was thinking about becoming a hammocker (if thats how you say it)...so, yeah..I will review the Scout, but pretty sure I want the Warbonnete Blackbird for myself...

Here is the question...is there only one place to buy these (Mfg.)? Who has the best prices/service if not...yes, I can look around on line, but there is always that cheaper place that fail to find...

Or if you have a used one you would like to unload or trade for gear...lemme know...

Glad to be here...very excited to spend my FIRST night in a hammock...

Ok...Im looking on Warbonnet Outdoors website...checking out blackbirds and pricing...it says this t the bottom...

"Every hammock comes with your choice of suspension, either the line/strap suspension or adjustable webbing suspension."

Uh yeah...do i just flip a coin, throw a dart, what? Can someone give me the 101 on this?

I'm thinking adjustable webbing is the best bet. Adjustable tree hugging straps. You can't go wrong. I've been doing some comparing. And the prices on those hammocks are outstanding for the features your getting.

Add some Dutch Clips and you have a fast easy set up. There are some other ways to rig it that could save a few ounces but the adjsutable suspension with Dutch Clips is fast, easy and nearly foolproof.

As Brandon makes the BB and sells then on his site, the only to get a BlackBird cheaper is to watch the "For Sale" part of the forum and wait for one to come up and hope you see it in time to buy it. They usually sell in a matter of hours once listed.

Honestly 130-160 is a great price for a hammock people on this site thinks is legendary.. It doesn't come with a tarp but that gives you the chance to shop around and figure your best option.

I had the Blackbird with adjustable straps and switched to Whoopie slings. Easy switch, and then I had some nice long straps for those monster trees we have out here.

I have the WBBB with adjustable strapes and I love it.... Brandon is so easy to work with. You will be happy when you get one... Peace \/

I would recommend the strap system, if only for the ease and convenience of use. Suspensions are supremely easy to swap out when the mood strikes you, so if you want to start losing grams and ounces later, it's a walk in the park to do it with the suspension. Go for easy first, then work your way through the other 993 different options.

They pop-up for sale on this site and a few others, but not usually at a bargain. I've seen two sell on eBay for more money than it would have cost to buy new. I suppose instant gratification is worth a few extra bucks if the patience to wait for a new order isn't in supply.
