I might see you this weekend. It will be my first trip to Savage Gulf. I keep hearing goods things about it, but it hasn't worked out before now to get down there.

Any suggestions on a 2 night trip? or must-sees? I'm planning on going in at Savage Ranger Station, just because I'm closer to that side of the park.

I envy those who are getting out . . .

. . . I am picking up a 50+ year old, built in New York, upright piano for my daughters . . .

. . . will take some figuring to get it outa where it is . . .

. . . and some kinda figuring out how to get it in - here.

If I can get 'er done, I might just sneek off, to the piny-woods out back

I was really looking forward to going out this weekend, but UPS messed up and didn't priorety ship my priorety shipment.

Kudos to Hennessy for making things right, since it was no fault of theirs. I could see where they'd requested my expedited shipping. UPS just decided they didn't want to deliver anything this week... (I had another shipment I ordered LAST week that won't arrive until next Tuesday)

Next weekend I shall hang! And it shall be glorious!

Heading to my old folks place that has a campsite to take the wife and kid camping. They will be ground dwelling while I am in the hammock. Got it all set up:

what a great weekend it was. We had beautiful weather and the waterfalls were flowing!!!

Hamhocker did her very 1st 2 night, 3 day trip and survived. For those of you that know Savage Gulf will appreciate that she hiked down the connector trail from Hobbs Cabin to Sawmill campsite. It was so funny but right before we started down it (she didn't know we were going that way) she said what a pretty ravine it was. I said it is and we are going that way. Her mouth fell open and I could see the fear in her eyes. I got her to calm down and to breathe slowly. She relaxed and made it down ok. The longer she hiked down the rocky connector trail the more her fears gave away to confidence. It kicked her butt for sure but she agreed it was easier to hike down it than it would be to hike up it!!

She has said over and over that the JRB bridge hammock is the best hammock out there for her!! She can lay on her back, side and stomach and sleep great.

Who cares about showers, gourmet food, using flush toilets. Just keep on walking and being away from it all.
