Does anyone run small bungees on the ends of their tarp anchors? Seems like it would be OK, but you'll know best. Thanks

Many use bungee cord to make self tensioning guylines.

Got my AHE Toxaway tarp set up (over the Traveler) on the Byer Vario backyard lab as we speak. I have the ridge attached with Nite-Ize #5 adjustable bungies and the four corners attached with conventional garden variety bungies. No line at all and it will be my set up next time I get into the piney woods. The only variable will be which tarp I bring. I intend to use them with a pair of tree straps too.
Disclaimer; I camp from a motorcycle so for me bungie cords are a dual use item. If I were hauling this on my back the system would be a high speed low drag set of lines (like the Jacks above).
The hooks on a bungee might become dangerous, depending how tight you pull them. JRB has some excellent self tensioners that serve that purpose, without the danger of poking your eye

Surely, God could have made a better way to sleep.
Surely, God never did.
And depending on what kind of "hooks" are on your bungies. I am careful to use the non metal ones for my motorcycle anyway (don't want it all scratched up). The Nite-Ize bungies have "hooks" that are actually plastic biners with wire gates. The stake itself is more dangerous than my bungie but then that's why the bungies should not be snugged too tight.
Frankly when the wind becomes an issue, I use stakes directly to the corner loops of the Toxaway, on all four sides just to create a wind barrier.
