Lightbulb Red River Gorge Ky Hangout?

I live in the Cincinnati, Ohio Area and I know we have a lot of Ohio and Northern Ky. Members here. I was thinking about trying to get some us together for a group hang at Red River Gorge Ky. We could meet up say Friday and return Sunday. Maybe stop off Sunday at miguel's pizza Sunday on the way home. I would like to plan this for late summer say in September? What are your thoughts and would there be anyone up for this. I think a hike out to Hannon’s Point would be sweet.

I've been thinking about posting up a trip to RRG too. I keep seeing pics and it looks like a a place I'd like to see. If it's in September I'd consider the drive down. Anything before September and I don't know if I could fit it in.

I would be interested also. I'm working on a trip down there to do some backpacking and hanging.

I MAY be going down May 5 - 9. I plan on doing quite a few miles,,, or not. Going to play it by ear (Or knee in my case ) & see how it goes.

So far, in pencil as it were, the plan is to park at the swinging bridge & do the loop up to the Gray's arch parking lot & back. BUT as I have done this loop about 3 times, I may do something else all together.

I'm pretty sure my girlfriend and I will be going down there tomorrow. Maybe we will see you.

Are you talking about Whittleton Branch Trail? I've done that and like it.

I'd like to try something new but would like to get a recommendation.

I'm not going this time! Ran into a surprise (Read "Forgotten" ) Property tax bill so there goes my hiking money for the next 3 months.

I was really looking forward to a few days in the Piney woods, Oh Well! Was even going to take Monday & explore the "Tourist trails" just for the fun of it.
    Yall have a good time!
I can give you a few hints if you want, just PM me.

I miss the gorge. The wife and I used to make a couple trips there a year, till we got pregnant. Now with a 1 year old in the house, haven't gotten down there in 2 years. We usually parked at the Koomer ridge side which isn't the most scenic at first, but the pinch em tight trail is pretty. Lot of good places to hang too.

I am heading to Cumberland Gap on the 13th or I might have been up for it. My chances are limited these days with the little one at home.

On a side note, looks like quite a few in the Cincy area. Wondering if we could get everyone together on a nice day at a park and check out everyones setups.
