    Different Stuff Sack?

it was finally nice enough outside for me to go out and test hang both my enos. took the dog with me to get her out of the house and to see if she would sit with me in the hammock. anyway, im pulling out the first eno and find out that my packing skills suck and my amsteel (since it isnt quite a whoopie yet) is all sorts of jumbled. it takes the better part of 5 minutes to figure out which end is up. after figuring it out, it was easy from there but then tear down made for an interesting time packing it back in. my second eno wasnt as bad, really easy if anything. it has the stock suspension still on it.

so my question is, to those of you who have enos, do you keep your hammock in the sack attached to it or use a separate stuff sack, like a bishop bag? im guessing if not, then packing it right makes all the difference. any tips in that department then?

ps. i tried to get more pictures but spent most of my battery life catching the small pack of deer that came close enough i could have touched them.

here is what i did with a Grand Trunk single which is the same style as the eno. used a seam ripper to carefully detach the stuff sack. sewed a peice of 7/8" grosgrain to the bottom of the stuff sack, then heated up a 1/4" brass grommet with a lighter and then melted through the grosgrain and the stuff sack turning it into a bishop style bag.

you know, i was thinking about making a bag to make things easier but i wasnt sure what i would do with the eno sack. this not only takes care of that, but also reuses what i already have. great idea! how does the grommet hold up?

did not install the grommet. i only used it to melt a hole through the grosgrain and stuff sack. how well it will hold up is as yet unknown because this was only recently done.

    Freelance,

I didn't like using that attached sack with my ENO dbl, so I made a bishop bag from an old Thermarest stuff sack I had. Works great, and the little end pocket is perfect for stowing suspension. I left the stuff pocket attached; I hang in the ENO at home now, and my TV remotes fit perfectly in it.

BTW...my dog has that same pack! Sadly, I don't think she'll ever get into the hammock with me though.

    FTex:
On my ENO's I remove the heavy webbing and QD buckle from the bag with a seam ripper leaving the bag attached to the hammock, great place to keep my book, headlight, car keys, etc..........Went to Wallyworkd and got a three pack of there stuff sacks.........in the Orange one the hammock will fit and you can still roll the top closure down, the green one will hold the hammock, my DIY bugnet and a single layer of Insultex insulation that I use as my summer rig. These packs are water resistant/proof and a great way to keep my hammock dry when I am paddling.
