Thumbs up Sea To Summit Micro Series

I've been waiting all year for these to come out, only to find out they're running $350-$450

    Oh well, still pretty cool:

Very cool! Yeah I was hoping the Micro series would be around $200 but that was probably optimistic.

I'd still rather have a Feathered Friends Rock Wren in a hammock. The center zip is much more hammock friendly.

    R00K,
Any particular reason you were looking at these (or waiting on them)?

For the same price (maybe less) you could get a quilt (or custom) from on of the cottage vendors from here and be tailored to your needs! If you were wanting something for your 2012 projected AT thru, you could look at one of the Jacks wide quilts, or a Custom from Stormcrow (his name is Adam, shhh don't tell anyone, haha), or from someone else as there are many others! If you wanted a hood for the colder season you could get a JRB hood, then it would serve dual use, a hood for your jacket and when you are in your quilt as head insulation, then send it home or bounce it when not needed!

    Sorry got to rambling, haha!!!!

I thought for some reason they would be under $200 - big 'wrong'.

I'm thinking about getting the No sniveller - hood - and sleeves - and the mt Washington 3 convertable. That should give me all the flexibility I need for my hike. I can take the whole system until weather gets around 30 - then bounce the Mt Washington conversion and the sleeves for a short closed-foam pad for my feet/legs. And then when nights get to 40 and above I could probably bounce the UQ and use the no sniveller as an UQ/open peapod and grab a thermolite reactor (8 oz version) and keep the pad for the colder nights.

OK sounds good, just wanted to make sure you had thought about the other vendors as you would get more for your money, in comparison to the Sea to Summit bag!
