WB Edge vs. MacCat Standard for WBBB

Hello, I apologize if this has been asked before. I searched and searched, but there are so many variations of these A vs. B questions that it seems like a wild goose hunt!

I am about to purchase a WBBB 1.0 DL. I am trying to get my head wrapped around the differences between the MacCat Standard and the WB Edge tarps, besides the obvious. I'll try to lay out my thoughts here, and I would love anyone with experience using either or both of these tarps with the BB to chime in. Thanks!

P.S. Both of these would be in SilNylon, not Spinn, or Cuben, or anything else. Call me cheap.

    MacCat Standard:
    Slightly Smaller than the Edge
    No Ridgeline Necessary
    Plastic Corner Tie Outs
Nicer Edge Finishing? (Can someone detail this for me?)
    $95

    The Edge:
    Slightly Larger
Is a ridgeline necessary? (I'm not sure)
    Metal Tie-Outs
Add-On Doors for Purchase Separately if desired
    $85

I'm sure either will be just fine for my 3 season use, but I'm just curious about what the differences will be.

Anything else I am missing? I'm a complete noobie, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    - No ridgeline necessary for the Edge. It has a grosgrain ridgeline seam that doesn't need sealing.
    - MacCat's have grosgrain sewn along the edges as binding, and a pre-sealed ridgeline.
    - The door kits from an Edge can be rigged on a MacCat.

Both are great. There's no wrong choice.

I think that sealed the deal for me. The $10 difference plus the slightly larger size sold me on The Edge.

    Thank you!

I've been considering the Edge in Spinn and this info is timely. Thanks AS and stefprez.

You'll also save money on shipping for the Edge if you are getting a WBBB anyways. Both are great, can't go wrong with either.

Just placed the order! Also, didn't realize there was a $10 rebate for the tarp/hammock combo from WB. Very nice! If anyone would be interested, I will get some pictures posted of the two. After I get out on the trail with it, maybe I can do review too, even though I don't have too much to compare to. Thanks again for the info everyone!
