You know you're a hammocker when you're drilling into your bedroom walls to mount anchors to hang your hammock from!

When you say 'I'm gonna hang tonight' gets a lot of worried looks from people, and you never understand why they tell you 'It's gonna get better.'
It's better to be lucky, than good!

,, When you get asked "How did you sleep last night?" You answer; "In a hammock!" & your fellow hanger takes it to mean "I slept GREAT!!!!"

,, Regardless of the number of hammocks you have, when you see a new one, you want it, even if it's just a different color from the same model you already have.

,, you pick a hotel / motel while on (family?) vacation because there is a wood lot next to it & you figure you can slip out after dark & sleep there instead of the bed.

,, You read the hotel / motel example above & say, "But we go camping in hammocks on OUR family vacations!"
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.

My first hammock after I joined HF was an ENO DN. I still use it for lounging but nowadays I use a WBBB 1.1 DL with WB TQ and UQ to avoid CBS. I also have a TTTG SB LH. Unlike the BB the LH has no SRL. I may consider a BMBH in the future. For suspension I use CB's for both but also use WS, webbing and DC's. The DC's came from JRB and the webbing from AHE. I've also tried UCR's but prefer WS. My tarp for winter is an OES and I use a CRL and keep it in SS. For really cold temps I add IX to my TQ and UQ to act as a VB. To warm me up I boil water in my BB but also use my FF alchy. Looking to pick up a ULA for a trip this summer. I do a little DIY but nothing big. I HYOH and I am happy.
good one bubba! a fun thread.

    - you feel better knowing all is secure in Sector Seven
    - there's just something about CCF and cuben fiber...
    - you obsess over your ridgeline
    - friends can't fathom why you would want to go to a Hammock Hang

Hey Bubba, and all you acronymistical shorhand typists. I appreciate your enthusiasim, truly. May I just say that as an old curmudgeon, it gives me a pain in the (oops, family forum!) posterior to click up someone's post who is so into acronyms that it takes me a loooong time to figure out what you are trying to say. If you insist on using abbreviations, otherwise know as acronyms, please at least print the encryption code the first time it is used in the post. Believe it or not, the English language is very descriptive, a pleasure to read, and in this day of a lifestyle that allows for nothing more than abbreviations of life, why are you here? The Hammock Forums epitomizes a more relaxed form of living. Slow down boy, take the time to print out what you really want to say, and live life to a fuller meaning! This is not meant to be a mean spirited reply in any way, and is not directed to you specifally. There are lots of new members on the forum who have no idea what all these acronyms mean, and even those of us that have been on for awhile sometimes have a heck of a time trying to decipher your encrypted code. Could we have a little more English here and a few less magic coder/decoder rings?

Sorry Bubba, this tirade is not directed at you personally, it just struck a nerve. Here's to clearer writing and less acronymish!!
