ENO Type Fabric - Please Help

I am trying to find the fabric that is used in the ENO hammocks. I ordered some nylon taffeta from efabricsupply.com and it does not feel anywhere near what the ENO feels like. The efabricsupply fabric seems to be more plastic like and unbreathable unlike the ENO. Will you lead me to a source for this material?

I wish I could help. One thing I just realized is that whatever the fabric, it does stretch quite a bit.

I just got a new ENO and set it up in my house.

Being indoors, I hung the hammock directly from my whoopies (no straps.) Well, after lying in it for awhile, i realized my posterior was grazing the floor

Many people complain about slap straps stretching, and new ones indeed do. But I bet it is a combo of both the new fabric and new straps that make people think their straps are stretching more than they are.

The fabric might be the 'crinkle' nylon. I've seen it on some websites, and it looks similar. ...but don't hold me to it...
It's better to be lucky, than good!

According to this thread the material is a piece dyed taffeta, but the OP said they ordered a taffeta and it was nothing like the original...

This site describes it as a breathable nylon micro fiber. Hmmmm. It is still a mystery then.

    I am curious too

I have also tried to find out and have not been able to get an exact answer. I do know it is not the same fabric used in the Grand Trunck (I own both). The ENO has a softer feel to it. Supposedly some type of "parachute fabric"

Could it have some silk in it, the ENO fabric that is? I am thinking it might not increase the weight, would still be strong, could still breath well, and give it a softer feel than 100% nylon. May also add to the more matte finish.

it's just a plain nylon taffeta of that weight (2.something per yard) like 2.5-3 osy i think

fabric comes in lots of different weights. generally "taffeta" is non ripstop that's 70D or less. most taffeta is lighter than the eno fabric though, i doubt you'll find it for sale anywhere. you're best bet is to just substitute with 1.9 ripstop which is lighter. or go up to an oxford which will be similar but with a lower threadcount (not as nice, 1.9 ripstop is probably the better choice). if you need more support, make a double layer.

Plastic hand feel? Not breathable? Sounds like they sent you a PU coated fabric.
ENO fabric is just nylon taffeta- not coated.
