Smile First real DIY-hang and a major change in my life

    April 1st 2011:

Got settled in my girlfriend's parents' "garden". Setup:
    DIY gathered-end hammock
    DIY underquilt
    DIY topquilt
    DIY tarp
    DIY treestraps
    DIY whoopie-sling suspension
    DIY stuff-sack
    -- did I forget anything? Oh yes, I'll need to make a ridgeline-organizer, some snake-skins, a bugnet...

Had us a nice fire with pierced sausages (is this proper english?). As soon as we were fed I unpacked the ring I had brought with me, fell down on my knees and asked my girlfriend to marry me -- no april's fool joke -- now she's my fiance!

We enjoyed the calming fire for a longer while and enjoyed being together till I escorted her to her car in the late night (she was not going to stay the night in the forest, will need to put more efforts into converting her to the hammock...).

The next day I siliconized my new DIY rectangle camo-tarp.

Here is a picture of the complete setup:

What to say, it was a mighty fine weekend and I slept like a baby despite of the owls, bats and all those other animals around!
