Funny you should mention that. I've been meaning to ask about why you left the Whiteblaze dinner the other weekend without even saying good-bye, much less giving me a hug. However <lower lip trembling> I'm not bitter...

Alas, I must wonder if I should wait for you while you hike. Or not.

The lonely life of a Hammock Princess. Sigh.

Had a friend that really needed me. All I could think about was getting out of there and going to help her.

    Eh, you'll wait.

    Dear Abby

seen recently in the Dear Abby column in Hammocking World News

    Dear Abby,
there was a time when my sweetheart, let's call him hellhound,
was kind to me. He remembered the little things like saying
goodbye after dinner, and keeping his dog out of the hammock
    when we shared it.
But lately he threatens to run off with his dog for months
at a time, leaving me alone. Prefer a dog to me? And expect
me to wait for him chastely until he tires of that
    relationship? What to do??

    confused,
    Hammock Princess
    Dear Hammock Princess,
perhaps hellhound was neglected as a pup, and is suffering
from alpha dog confusion. His turning his tail on you is reflective
of his instincts that you're the dominant partner in the relationship,
and he is acting out his own deep seated insecurities with respect
    to being dominated.

His choosing a dog over you is a clear indication that he
prefers relationships where his own alphaness is not threatened.
Let him go; even after treatment the recidivation rate in these
    sad cases is very high.
Keeping hanging in there, and your charming Hammock Prince will one
    day appear.

    without a dog.

    Abby

You've got too much time on your hands. Also, have you considered writing dear Abby collums? Very insightful.

    Grizz, you crack me up!

Hooch- yep, still got it. Better be nice or I'll give it to Hilary, Obama, and McCain...oh my!

That pic was at Trail Days. AWOL had a pancake breakfast at his place and invited me. He makes some killer cornbread pancakes! Those three guys are just too cool for school!
