    My first DYI

Well thanks to everyone on here and my dear friend for letting me borrow her sewing machine and my lovely wife for putting up with me. With all the help and advice here I have attempted and completed my first DYI hammock. I am thrilled to have done this myself but have a question. I took it out today for my first hang and it hangs great.. very level lay but .... the sides seem to fold into on onto me while laying.. what caused this and how can I prevent this in the future?
    Thank you all.. happy hanging.

What DIY directions did you use? Are the sides that fold into you tight or loose?

    Directions

Hey I truly dont remember where I found the dimensions for my DIY..
I used a 10x6 feet piece of ripstop though.. im laying in it as we speak and its not near as bad as it was on my earlier hang but I have it strung up on my front porch and not to the previous trees.. Maybe I had a bad fit earlier but wasnt sure.. thank you for the reply as well.

If you have lashed, gathered ends, you can experiment with pulling the corners (I just do it on my "head side") out a little as you re-lash the ends.

The way the ends are gathered can make a large difference in the lay of the hammock.

This "Just Jeff's" page shows a few ways to gather and whip the ends.
