Absolute newbie here..still waiting on my first hammock (a BlackBird of course!)
Some fantastic photos there...have added BC to my "to-do" list although Im on the other side of the planet so it might be a while

Recently Ive been trying out a sail on my yak...I actually had it for a while (came with my second-hand boat) but I never used it as I thought it would be a hassle..too hard to manage and would make the boat unstable.

    http://www.pacificaction.com/models1.htm

After trying it out I realised that neither of these things are an issue.
Firstly, the sail is under tension from a shock cord at the front so to get it up you just loosen the sheets and the sail pops up of its own accord.

And the yak is completely stable to ..not sure exactly why but probably something to do with the pivot position at the front...is doesnt seem to have alot of leverage to affect boat stability.

Anywayz, just mention it as something to consider. It is can be very nice cruising in a kayak under sailpower enjoying the scenery!

    Thx for the photos!

The truth is there are many places in BC that look like this. WW paradise. The Kootenay are easy to get to. The coast is a whole other heaven.

    Hey Mbiraman,

I'm up in the North Peace, still a little snow on the ground around home, and a crazy amount left in the bush and mountains. I've been eyeing up my beat up old aluminum fishin' boat, but the lakes are locked up pretty solid for the time being. Got a great spring backyard hang in last weekend though, so things are coming around!

Northern BC is great, but I sure hope to make it down to your neck of the woods one day.

    Cheers!
