    Don't buy Fling-It

I was ordering another roll of Zing It when I came across a similar appearing product called Fling-It. The descriptions were the same and it was a nice orange. OK, so I'll get the orange for a change. WRONG!

While the specs are the same, the braid is different. It has a square braid that can't be opened for a fixed brummel and bury type of eye splice and I'm not going to learn to braid a splice.

Sounds like they gave it the right name.

I have never used Zing It, but I have used Lash It with great luck.

I'm pretty sure "Fling it" is a different company than Zing/Lash it. I have used the latter many times and am very happy with it.

If I remember correctly, Fling-it is cored while Lash-it/Zing-it are hollow braid allowing for splicing.

fling it is made for arborists. Solid core is useful for the weight on the line. The name tells you what they use it for...
Has uses around the camp, but you can't splice it like a hollow core line. It does make great prussic slides for same or larger diameter line.

You are correct. Fling-It is made by All Gear. I've gone through one roll of 2.2 Zing It ...good stuff.

The Fling-It is not cored, but the square braid will not let it open for splicing.

Making the best of my mistake...a bowline on one end of a 30' piece, one soft shackle to close the looped end around a tree and I have a new tarp ridgeline. It should go well with my new brown MacCat.

Zing-it and Lash-it, I believe, are the same, just different colors.
